30 day photo challenge -- part 1

Right now I am in the middle of doing the 30 day photo challenge on facebook that I picked up from a few friends. It is actually kind of fun and thus far I have enjoyed doing it. I find the challenging part is not forgetting to do it but instead not doing all of the days at once. It has really made me think about some things in my life so far. I just posted the picture for day 16.

Here are my results so far for the first half:


Day 01 - A picture of yourself with 5 facts
I had a hard time picking a picture of me to use for this one because I don’t have many pictures of myself that I really like. This one isn’t the most recent but it is fun.
Here are my 5 facts:
1.I love to dance.
2. I love to write.
3. I have two pet turtles and a baby tortoise.
4. Don't mistake me for a dumb blond, I might be silly but I'm rather nerdy.
5. Orchids are my favorite flowers.




Day 02 - A picture of you and the person you have been closest with the longest

This one really took some thinking because I have had
many good and close friends over the years. However, since the woman has been an important part of my life since before I was born, my mama had to win. This really is such an awful picture of her and I but as I learned when I was looking for a picture of us together, I have almost none. It is rather sad, I know. But now that it has been brought to my attention, I plan on fixing that.




Day 03 - A picture of the cast from your favorite show

It is no secret that I am a CSI junkie! I’m sure that I
have seen almost every episode and no, I haven’t done so by buying the seasons or anything. Just years of watching it on TV. This cast was my favorite time in the show and when I feel like the show was at its very best. I even took forensic science my senior year of high school because of this show. It was an AWESOME class and I learned so many neat things. I would have very seriously considered going into forensic criminology in college except many of the classes I would have needed to take aren’t my very best or favorite subjects.

Day 04 - A picture of your night

I was a little confused at what “a picture of your night” meant but
I decided it was a snap shot of your typical evening.
Well, here is mine! My friends pick on me (I pick on me too) because when it comes to my evening habits, I am as far from a typical college student as you can get. I am bordering on 75 year old woman. I really enjoy having peaceful evenings.I generally make sure my homework is done by 7-ish pm (it is usually done WAY before then) and I am normally showered and in pj’s pretty early. Sometimes I read, hang out on fb or watch my evening tv line up. Yes, those are tinker belle pjs and I love them.



Day 05 - A picture of your favorite memory

All in all, I have had a pretty happy life thus far. Yea,
a few bumps and hardships along the road but I haven’t
lived a life that leaves me with only one single favorite
memory.I have a lot of cherished ones and for that I am thankful and truly blessed. This picture is one of my most favorite memories and the best Christmas present
I could have ever gotten. The dude in the blue is one of my older brothers. He had gotten himself into some trouble and had been away from home for like 7 years. It was Christmas eve and my little brother, mama, stepdad and myself had just sat down together for dinner when a strange car pulled up in the drive way. A man got out and started walking up to the house. Josiah and I were told to stay at the table as my parents walked outside. It wasn’t long before we realized who it was and we headed for the door. When we were little, my parents made us get all dressed up and take family Christmas pictures together as siblings. I have to say, of all of those pictures, this is the one where we are most happy and it is by far my favorite.

Day 06 - A picture of a person you'd love to trade places with for a day

Truthfully, I would trade places with almost any famous dancer for a day, just to see what it is like. Also truthfully, I would most like to trade places for Martha Graham – but since she is dead, I wasn’t sure if that counted. So instead I picked Irina Dvorovenko. She dances with the ABT and while she isn’t my most favorite dancer, she is absolutely stunning.




Day 07 - A picture of your most treasured item

This one was kind of difficult for me. I looked around my bed room in my apartment and my test to find my MOST treasured item was to
find the single one thing that I have that I would be most devastated
over losing. I was very surprised that I had such a hard time
pickingsomething. My Bible? A few gifts that people have given me? My engagement ring? This was so difficult because I have been taught that A) most things can be replaced and B) it is the memories that are most important, not the actual items. But then I saw Sammy sitting in his tank. I guess I didn’t think about him at first because he isn’t really a “thing” and while he isn’t my most treasured item, he is the only thing in my bedroom that would scar me for life if something happened to. Mostly because he isn’t just a material object but he is a life. And such a sweet little wonderful one at that.


Day 08 - A picture that makes you laugh

I have tons of pictures that make me laugh but this is one
of my favorites. This is my friend Alec and I while we were on a field trip to Washington, DC our senior year of high school. I am not sure what makes me laugh more, the face that he is making or the fact that I actually got him to make that face for a picture. Either way, we had a blast on that trip.




Day 09 - A picture of the person who has gotten you through the most

This one was tough at first too. I knew I didn’t want to
pick a picture of William for every other day and I already
knew which day I was going to do a picture of him. I had already used my mom and didn’t want toreuse people. I thought about putting together a littlecollage of ALL of my wonderful parents, including William’s parents, but that would have been too much work and wasn’t a single person. Then, again, I started thinking outside the box a bit and realized who it really was that has gotten me through the most. I thought about putting a picture of a cross but I thought a picture of my favorite verse would provide even more information. My God is so wonderful and He has done so much for me – more than anyone ever has or ever will. My favorite Bible verse is “For I know the plans I have for you’ says the Lord. ‘They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’” Jeremiah 29:11



Day 10 - A picture of the person you do the most ****** up things with


This is a picture of my friend Katy. I love her to death.Sometimes we do some pretty strange things and we have had a few wild adventures but mostly we just talk about doing super crazy things. She is going to be my maid of honor,so lately many of our crazy conversations have been about bachelorette party ideas. None the less, this is also an older photo and it is terrible, but fits perfectly for this one.




Day 11 - A picture of something you hate

There are only a hand full of things that I don't like in this world but even most of those I can tolerate if I absolutely must.Except for pickles. I HATE pickles. I cannot stand them. The way they taste or smell. I go to great lengths to avoid foods that have touched pickles and I won't even touch them myself because I don't want the smell on my fingers. They are awful little things.

Day 12 - A picture of something you love

I am in love with the stars. When I was little, I wanted to be a star
when I grew up. My bedroom at home is entirely decorated with them. I have written countless poems about them. Notice, I didn't say that I love them. I am in love with them. I swear God made them just for me!



Day 13 - A picture of your favorite band or artist

As a dancer, I have a pretty wide range of music in my collection. Country and Christian are defiantly my favorite and what I listen to the most but I don't really have a favorite group or artist. I decided to post a picture of Taylor Swift because she is pretty fun to rock out to. She is also amazingly beautiful. I really love her music but I do wish she would learn to write about something other than boys.




Day 14 - A picture of someone you could never imagine your life without

This is the one that I was saving my darling William for. This is a picture of us in 11th grade. If someone would have told me then that he would be the most important person in my life and my husband, I probably
would have dumped him. And it would have been the biggest mistake of my life. William is not the kind of man I would have ever chosen for myself. He doesn't match up to what I thought was my "perfect guy" but it just goes to show that God's plans are so much better than the plans we have for ourselves. We really are the perfect compliment to one another. As sappy and cliche as it sounds, he really is my other half and we were made for one another. I couldn't imagine my life with out him.


Day 15 - A picture of something you want to do before you die

There are a lot of things that I would like to do before I die. I, like many people have a list dedicated to those special tasks. While going back to Peru is not on my official list, it is most definitely something I would like to do. It was such an incredible experience. I have better pictures, ones with me actually in it, but I don't have digital copies yet. I picked this one because it kind of gives you the feel of the types of
villages we were staying in.
